Caring for Survivors Act of 2025 increases compensation for surviving spouses of veterans who died before 1993.

The Caring for Survivors Act of 2025 amends title 38, United States Code, to improve and expand eligibility for dependency and indemnity compensation for certain survivors of veterans. It increases the amount of compensation for surviving spouses of veterans who died before January 1, 1993. The new compensation rate is set at 55 percent of the monthly rate of compensation in effect under section 1114(j) of title 38. The changes apply to compensation paid for months beginning six months after the enactment of this Act.
