The Helping Improve Recruitment and Retention Efforts for Prosecutors Act of 2025 establishes a grant program to assist states, territories, local governments, and tribal governments in hiring prosecutors. The Attorney General can award competitive grants to eligible recipients for hiring and training new prosecutors or support staff, and rehiring laid-off prosecutors. The federal share of the cost for a project cannot exceed 75 percent.
