The Reducing Exploitative Social Media Exposure for Teens Act, or RESET Act, prohibits certain social media platforms from allowing individuals under 16 years old to create or maintain accounts or profiles. The Federal Trade Commission is authorized to enforce this prohibition, including the ability to intervene in legal actions, seek injunctions, and obtain damages or restitution. States are also allowed to bring civil actions on behalf of residents if they believe their interests are threatened by violations of this Act.
