The Save Oak Flat from Foreign Mining Act repeals section 3003 of Public Law 113–291, which mandated the Forest Service to transfer Oak Flat to Resolution Copper for copper mining. Oak Flat, located in the Tonto National Forest in Arizona, is an ancestral homeland of American Indians and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The act withdraws Oak Flat from all forms of entry, appropriation, or disposal under public land laws, location, entry, and patent under mining laws, and disposition under mineral and geothermal leasing laws.
