H.R.633

The TAKE IT DOWN Act criminalizes the intentional disclosure of nonconsensual intimate visual depictions and requires covered platforms to remove.

The TAKE IT DOWN Act amends the Communications Act of 1934 to criminalize the intentional disclosure of nonconsensual intimate visual depictions, including digital forgeries, with specific penalties for offenses involving adults and minors. It mandates covered platforms to remove such depictions within 48 hours of a valid removal request from the identifiable individual or their authorized representative. The Act also outlines exceptions, including disclosures made for lawful purposes or with consent.
