Cold Weather Diesel Reliability Act of 2025 allows diesel vehicle manufacturers to suspend engine derate or shutdown functions in cold weather.

The Cold Weather Diesel Reliability Act of 2025 modifies the Clean Air Act to allow manufacturers of diesel vehicles to suspend engine derate or shutdown functions triggered by emissions control system faults when ambient temperatures are at or below zero degrees Centigrade. It also exempts certain vehicles from diesel exhaust fluid system requirements in regions with prolonged freezing conditions.
