The NIH IMPROVE Act establishes the IMPROVE Initiative within the National Institutes of Health to improve maternal health outcomes. The Initiative aims to reduce preventable causes of maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity, address health disparities, and improve health for pregnant and postpartum women. It will use an integrated approach to understand factors affecting maternal health and target health disparities through community-based interventions and identifying risk factors.
