The HOPE Act, or Bipartisan Healthcare Optimization, Protection, and Extension Act, amends the Internal Revenue Code to extend and modify the enhanced premium tax credit. It also amends the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to make certain adjustments to the operation of the Exchanges. The bill extends the enhanced premium tax credit for taxable years beginning after December 31, 2025, and before January 1, 2028. It modifies the rules to allow credit to taxpayers whose household income exceeds 400 percent of the poverty line.
