The Responsible Retirement of Law Enforcement Firearms Act of 2025 amends the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to improve firearm safety and accountability. It requires state and local law enforcement agencies to notify the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) if any firearm transferred by them is used in a criminal offense. The Act also mandates the ATF to publish a list of "covered licensed dealers," defined as those with firearms traced to crimes within two out of the last three years.
