Promotes American aquaculture research by amending the National Agricultural Research, Extension, and Teaching Policy Act of 1977.
The Promoting American Competition in Aquaculture Research Act amends the National Agricultural Research, Extension, and Teaching Policy Act of 1977 to eliminate the prohibition on indirect costs with respect to aquaculture assistance. It also amends the Food and Agriculture Act of 1977 to authorize $15,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2026 through 2030 for aquaculture assistance programs. The bill allows for the application of indirect costs under certain sections while removing the limitation on indirect costs for awards made under the aquaculture assistance programs.
