The Gun Safety Board and Research Act establishes a Gun Safety Board within the Department of Health and Human Services. The Board will conduct research on firearm violence reduction and educate the public on its causes and prevention. It will also publish recommendations and identify areas needing further research. The Board will be composed of 22 members with expertise in various fields, including public health, mental health, and law enforcement. Funding is authorized, and other federal gun violence research funds cannot be diverted to support this Act.
