H.R.4806

College Transparency Act

Introduced·7/29/25

College Transparency Act establishes a postsecondary student data system to enhance transparency and accountability in higher education.

The College Transparency Act amends the Higher Education Act of 1965 to establish a secure and privacy-protected postsecondary student data system. This system aims to evaluate student enrollment, progression, completion, and postcollegiate outcomes, as well as higher education costs and financial aid. The data system will collect non-personally identifiable information from institutions of higher education and other federal agencies. It will provide public access to summary aggregate information through a user-friendly website and analytic tool.
