The Stop COYOTES Act increases penalties for offenses involving children near schools and other public areas.

The Stop COYOTES Act amends the federal criminal code to increase penalties for certain offenses involving children. Specifically, it imposes additional prison terms for offenses committed within 1,000 feet of schools or school-sponsored activities, and within 100 feet of public housing or youth centers. The bill also mandates information sharing between the Department of Homeland Security and law enforcement agencies, and increases penalties for offenses involving fentanyl.
