The GUARD Veterans’ Health Care Act permits the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to recover costs from Medicare Advantage and Medicare prescription drug plans for health care services provided to veterans. This includes outpatient and inpatient care, prescription drugs, and medical devices. The VA can recover these costs regardless of any additional documentation or administrative requirements imposed by the plans.
