Introduced·6/4/25

Establishes an Office of Inspector General in the Executive Office of the President and limits removal reasons for certain Inspectors General.

The Integrity in Government Act of 2025 establishes an Office of Inspector General in the Executive Office of the President. It mandates the President to appoint an individual to this role within 90 days of the Act's enactment. The Act also restricts the removal of Inspectors General appointed by the President, except for inefficiency, malfeasance of office, or neglect of duty. This removal limitation does not apply to Inspectors General of independent agencies. The Act includes a technical amendment to ensure the provisions take effect as intended.
