The Fit to Serve Act amends title 10, United States Code, to prohibit discrimination in the Armed Forces on the basis of gender identity. This includes preventing the Secretary concerned from prescribing service qualifications, involuntarily separating members, denying medically necessary health care coverage, or requiring individuals to serve in the sex assigned at birth. Gender identity is defined as the gender-related identity, appearance, mannerisms, or other characteristics of an individual, regardless of their designated sex at birth.
