The GOSAFE Act restricts the possession of gas-operated semi-automatic firearms and large capacity ammunition feeding devices.

The GOSAFE Act, or Gas-Operated Semi-Automatic Firearms Exclusion Act, amends the federal criminal code to restrict the possession of certain firearms. It defines "gas-operated semi-automatic firearm" and "large capacity ammunition feeding device." The Act prohibits the import, sale, manufacture, transfer, receipt, or possession of these firearms and devices in interstate or foreign commerce. Exceptions include certain firearms for government and nuclear facility use. Licensed importers and manufacturers must mark these firearms as required by the Attorney General.
