The VA Funding and Workforce Protection Act limits deferral or transfer of VA funds and protects VA employees.

The VA Funding and Workforce Protection Act prohibits the deferral or transfer of federal funds for the Department of Veterans Affairs unless specific statutory authority is enacted. It also prevents the removal of probationary employees without express statutory permission. The Act exempts the VA from any hiring freeze from January 20, 2025, to January 20, 2029. It mandates the reinstatement of any veteran removed from VA employment between January 20, 2025, and the enactment of this Act, and exempts them from any reduction in force before January 20, 2029.
