The Uyghur Policy Act of 2025 directs the U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations to oppose any efforts to prevent consideration of human rights violations in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR). It also seeks to allow unhindered access to detention facilities and camps in the XUAR by independent media and international organizations for a comprehensive assessment of human rights conditions. The Act aims to protect the human rights and distinct religious and cultural identity of Uyghurs and other minority communities in the XUAR.
