The bill enhances transparency in rulemaking for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).
The Transparency in CFPB Cost-Benefit Analysis Act amends the Consumer Financial Protection Act of 2010 to enhance the transparency of the CFPB's rulemaking process. Each notice of proposed rulemaking issued by the CFPB must be published in its entirety in the Federal Register and include a statement of the need for the proposed regulation, an examination of why the Bureau must undertake the regulation, and an examination of whether the proposed regulation is duplicative, inconsistent, or incompatible with other federal regulations and orders.
