The Ocean Protection and DDT Reduction Act directs the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to study the impacts of certain waste dumped in the San Pedro Basin. The study includes monitoring, research on the waste's scope and impact, and developing tools for other ocean locations. The Administrator must also assess bioremediation potential and submit a report to specified committees within three years. The bill authorizes $6,000,000 annually for fiscal years 2028 through 2034.
