The Community Health Worker Access Act amends titles XVIII and XIX of the Social Security Act to increase access to community health workers under the Medicare and Medicaid programs. It defines community health workers, promotoras, and community health representatives as frontline health workers who serve as liaisons between health and social services and the community. The bill allows states to provide medical assistance for preventive services and services to address the social determinants of health furnished by these workers.
