The 9-8-8 Community Infrastructure Act provides capital grants for crisis response facilities.
The 9-8-8 Community Infrastructure Act amends the Public Health Service Act to authorize the Secretary of Health and Human Services to award grants for capital projects to eligible entities. These grants can be used for facility alteration, renovation, remodeling, expansion, new construction, and other capital improvement costs for crisis response program facilities. Eligible entities must provide crisis response services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and neither reject service nor limit services based on a patient’s ability to pay or other factors.
