The GRANITE Act, or Guaranteeing Rights Against Novel International Tyranny and Extortion Act, prevents U.S. courts from recognizing or enforcing foreign judgments that enforce foreign censorship laws. These laws restrict or penalize expression, expressive conduct, or expressive association based on content, viewpoint, or speaker identity. The act also allows U.S. persons to seek relief in U.S. courts if they face such foreign judgments.
