The Act defines "connected vehicle" as a vehicle integrating onboard networked hardware with automotive software systems to communicate with other networks or devices. "Covered country" includes North Korea, China, Russia, and Iran. The Act allows the Secretary of Commerce to issue authorizations for items that do not pose undue risks to national security.
