Extends the work opportunity tax credit and allows employers of social security disability insurance beneficiaries to qualify for the credit.
The Helping Individuals Rejoin Employment Act, or HIRE Act, amends the Internal Revenue Code to extend the work opportunity tax credit through December 31, 2030. It also makes employers of social security disability insurance beneficiaries eligible for the credit. A qualified social security disability insurance beneficiary is defined as an individual certified by a designated local agency as entitled to disability insurance benefits for any month ending within the 60-day period before the hiring date.
