The bill amends the Social Security Act to create a single point of contact for individuals whose Social Security numbers have been misused. This contact, consisting of specially trained employees, will coordinate with other units to resolve the victim's case and ensure continuity of records and case history. The single point of contact will be accountable for the case until its resolution. The amendment will take effect 180 days after the date of enactment.
