Healthy Dog Importation Act regulates the importation of live dogs into the United States.
The Healthy Dog Importation Act amends the Animal Health Protection Act to establish new rules for importing live dogs. It requires electronic submission of documentation to the Secretary of Agriculture, ensuring dogs are in good health, properly vaccinated, and tested for parasites. Importers must submit certificates from licensed veterinarians. The Act also mandates post-arrival verification processes and allows exceptions for specific purposes, such as military working dogs or research.
