Federal HB10222 prohibits sanctuary jurisdictions from receiving HUD grant funds.
Federal HB10222, the "No HUD Funding for Sanctuary Cities Act," defines sanctuary jurisdictions as states or political subdivisions that restrict sharing information on citizenship or immigration status with federal, state, or local government entities. Such jurisdictions are ineligible for any grant funds distributed by the Department of Housing and Urban Development 180 days after the Act's enactment. The Secretary of HUD must consult with the Secretary of Homeland Security to identify these jurisdictions.
