The Council of the District of Columbia recognizes and honors the 35th annual DC Black Pride, celebrating the Black LGBTQIA+ community. DC Black Pride, the oldest and one of the largest Black Pride events globally, attracts thousands from around the world. The event raises awareness and funding for HIV/AIDS prevention and stands against homophobia inspired by violence and bigotry. This resolution takes effect immediately.
