The Net Zero Modification and Preservation Temporary Amendment Act of 2026 amends the Clean Energy DC Building Act to modify energy compliance requirements for certain buildings. It defines "temporary building" and "Level 3 alteration" and exempts certain projects from net zero energy compliance. It also allows for on-site fuel combustion for backup power generation in essential buildings. The act repeals certain sections of the Housing Production Trust Fund Act of 1988 and the Green Housing Coordination Temporary Amendment Act of 2025. It will expire 225 days after its effective date.
