The District of Columbia Student Loan Authority Establishment Act of 2026 creates the District of Columbia Student Loan Authority as an independent entity within the District government. The Authority will provide financial assistance in the form of deferred payment loans to eligible applicants, including residents enrolled in post-secondary educational or vocational programs based in the District. The Authority will also refinance existing student loans for eligible applicants. The Authority will be governed by an executive board, which includes voting and ex-officio members.
