The Automatic Retirement Savings Act of 2025 establishes a Retirement Savings Program for employees of private entities and certain self-employed individuals in the District of Columbia. The program is designed to encourage participation, retirement saving, and sound investment practices. It is managed by the Retirement Savings Board, an independent agency. Employers with at least five employees headquartered in the District, employing at least five covered employees for the previous year, and in continuous operation for at least two years, must enroll eligible employees in the program.
