Unlocking Housing at Metro Property Tax Exemption Amendment Act of 2025 exempts qualifying developments from real property taxation.

The Unlocking Housing at Metro Property Tax Exemption Amendment Act of 2025 amends the District of Columbia Code to exempt from real property taxation qualifying developments on land subject to a Joint Development Agreement with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. This exemption applies to qualifying developments constructed after January 1, 2026, and lasts for 20 consecutive real property tax years beginning on the date a certificate of occupancy is issued. The exemption is in addition to any other tax relief or assistance applicable to the qualifying development.
