Allows applicants for Metropolitan Police Department to count certain credit hours towards post-secondary education requirement.
The Metropolitan Police Department Training Academy College Credit Opportunity Amendment Act of 2025 amends the Omnibus Police Reform Amendment Act of 2000. It allows applicants for sworn officers of the Metropolitan Police Department to count credit hours earned from the Department’s initial training program towards the requirement of 60 hours of post-secondary education. This change applies if the Department enters into an agreement with an accredited college or university to award at least 15 credit hours to recruits who successfully complete the initial training program.
