The Entertainment Establishment Employee Safety Amendment Act of 2025 amends Section 28-5404 of the District of Columbia Official Code to allow retail establishments with a valid on-premises Class C or Class D retailer license to refuse cash as a form of payment. This applies to retail establishments and restaurants operating 24 hours a day or at least two days a week until 3:00 am. The act requires these establishments to display a notice that cash payments are not accepted. The act will take effect following approval by the Mayor and a 30-day period of congressional review.
