Authorizes electronic documents and signatures for non-testamentary estate planning documents.

The Uniform Electronic Estate Planning Documents Act (UEEPDA) authorizes the use of electronic documents and electronic signatures for non-testamentary estate planning documents. This act fills a gap in the law that created uncertainty as to whether some electronic estate planning instruments were valid. The UEEPDA complements state laws governing electronic wills and is modeled after the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act. The act applies to documents like trusts and powers of attorney, but not to testamentary documents like wills.
