The Green Workforce Pilot Amendment Act of 2026 establishes a program to help individuals meet Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Medicaid community engagement requirements. The Department of Human Services will create the Green Workforce Pilot Program, offering employment opportunities in environmental conservation and infrastructure improvement. Participants will receive job coaching services and wages at least equal to the District minimum wage. The program will enroll up to 250 individuals at a time, providing them with 32 to 48 hours of work per month.
