Delaware SB81 amends teacher salary schedules to grant experience credit for prior paraprofessional work.

Delaware SB81 amends Title 14 of the Delaware Code to adjust the salary schedule for teachers hired after August 9, 2023. It provides that teachers or specialists with at least four years of full-time experience as a Title 1 or instructional paraprofessional in a public school, who have been issued a permit by the Department of Education or an equivalent agency in another state prior to becoming a teacher or specialist, receive one year of experience credit for every two years of such paraprofessional experience.
