Delaware SB38 amends Title 16 of the Delaware Code to create a reimbursement process for veterinary care expenses for retired law-enforcement horses and canines. The Department of Correction, the Department of Safety and Homeland Security, the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, and the State Fire Prevention Commission will reimburse owners up to $3,000 annually for veterinary care expenses for retired law-enforcement horses and up to $1,500 annually for retired law-enforcement canines. Owners must provide documentation of these expenses.
