Delaware SB29 amends funeral expense coverage for deceased volunteer firefighters, paramedics, and rescue workers.

Delaware SB29 amends Title 18 of the Delaware Code to update funeral expense coverage for deceased volunteers. The bill increases the maximum funeral expense reimbursement from $7,000 to $10,000 for members of volunteer fire companies, ladies auxiliaries, and ambulance and rescue companies who have served at least 10 years. It also clarifies that state employees receiving funeral benefits under other sections are still eligible for this benefit. The changes take effect on October 1, 2025.
