SB255 amends Delaware's motor vehicle window tinting laws to allow specific tinting on windshields and side windows.
SB255 modifies Title 21 of the Delaware Code to allow window tinting on the top edge of a vehicle's windshield, provided it is transparent and does not cover the AS-1 portion. Tinting is also permitted on side windows to the immediate right and left of the driver, as long as it allows at least 50% visible light transmission. The bill exempts police K-9 unit vehicles, surveillance vehicles, and law enforcement officers from these requirements. It also excludes antique motor vehicles and those with valid antique, classic, or street rod insurance policies from the tinting restrictions.
