SB166 amends Title 14 of the Delaware Code to provide excused absences and reasonable accommodations for pregnant and parenting students. The bill allows for excused absences for labor, delivery, prenatal and postnatal medical appointments, and health-related absences related to pregnancy. Schools must provide reasonable accommodations, including access to a private room for expressing milk, lactation equipment, and breaks for emergency childcare needs. Students may not be penalized for obtaining a health-care provider’s note and must be given at least 30 days to obtain it.
