SB136 amends Delaware's pension plan for state employees, adjusting eligibility and calculation methods.
SB136 amends Title 29 of the Delaware Code concerning the State Employees’ Pension Plan. It modifies the pension eligibility and calculation for elected officials of the General Assembly. For officials elected on or after January 1, 2012, pension eligibility begins at age 60 with at least 20 years of service, or at age 65 with at least 10 years of service. For those elected before February 28, 2025, the pension is based on years of service as an elected member of the General Assembly. The pension for officials elected after February 28, 2025, is computed under a new formula.
