Delaware HB56 amends Titles 18, 29, and 31 of the Delaware Code to require coverage for the medically necessary removal of excess skin and subcutaneous tissue, including panniculectomy, in health insurance policies. This applies to group and individual health insurance policies, contracts, or certificates delivered, issued for delivery, renewed, extended, or modified in the state. The coverage requirement does not apply to accident-only, specified disease, hospital indemnity, Medicare supplement, long-term care, disability income, or other limited benefit health insurance policies.
