The bill amends Title 3 of the Delaware Code to clarify and expand the duties of the Department of Agriculture regarding forestry and urban forestry. It specifies that the Department must execute all matters pertaining to forestry, devise and promulgate rules and regulations for the enforcement of state forestry laws, and impose fines for violations. The Department is also tasked with directing the improvement of publicly-owned forest lands, collecting data relative to forest conditions, and taking action to prevent and suppress forest fires.
