Delaware HB33 modifies the jurisdiction over controlled substances violations in the City of Newark. It grants concurrent jurisdiction to the Alderman’s Court of the City of Newark and the Court of Common Pleas for certain violations. Additionally, it gives concurrent jurisdiction to the Alderman’s Court and the Justice of the Peace Court for other violations. The Family Court retains exclusive jurisdiction over violations by persons under 18.
