Delaware HB304 amends Title 29 of the Delaware Code to require criminal background checks for current employees, conditionally offered employees, and contractors of the Office of Auditor of Accounts. These individuals must submit fingerprints and other necessary information to the State Bureau of Identification for state and federal criminal history record checks. The State Bureau of Identification must forward all obtained information to the Auditor or the Auditor’s designee, who can review and use it to determine qualification for employment or continued access to state systems.
