Delaware HB262 amends Title 14 to provide paid leave for employees upon the birth or adoption of a child.

Delaware HB262 amends Title 14 to provide paid leave for employees of reorganized school districts, charter schools, and vocational school districts. Employees are entitled to 12 weeks of paid leave upon the birth of a child or the adoption of a child who is 6 years of age or younger. This leave entitlement can begin at various stages of the adoption process, as determined by the employee. The leave runs concurrently with any rights and benefits available under the Family Medical Leave Act and short-term disability benefits.
