Delaware Play to Learn Act promotes play-based learning in early childhood education from preschool through second grade.

The Delaware Play to Learn Act amends Title 14 of the Delaware Code to encourage early childhood educators to create learning environments that facilitate play-based learning. This includes child-directed experiences based on developmentally appropriate, evidence-based, and research-based practices. Local education agencies may provide professional development in play-based learning for early childhood educators. The act defines play-based learning as a universal, innate, and essential human activity that integrates and supports children’s development and learning across multiple domains.
